While this is not a beach wedding, it is on the lake!

You should expect a formal lake wedding to be mostly outdoors, and for this reason, you need to dress accordingly. Specifically, make sure you wear the right shoes to be moving around on a boat.

While you may think that since the wedding is outside, that you can dress down a bit, but don’t forget that the word “formal” is still in the wedding guest dress code.

Keeping in mind the formality behind a wedding guest dress code, some ideas that you may want to consider when dressing for our lake wedding are:

Men: light-colored suit, linen shirts or pants, khakis, or slacks paired with a nice button-down shirt, with comfortable shoes. For this type of wedding, ties are not required.

Ladies: a formal summer wedding guest dress or a sundress paired with beach sandals or wedges.

Ladies -do not wear spiked or stiletto shoes
